Earth Day is one of our favorite days of the year here at PakTech. You probably already know why, but we’ll always say it loud and proud: We care about the environment. So much so, in fact, that everything we do – every product we design – is built with sustainability at the forefront of the process.

The cultural climate has undergone a massive shift, with 78% of U.S. consumers noting that a sustainable lifestyle is a critical aspect of how they choose to live. It’s not a paradox. It’s what we do at PakTech. Our packaging is made of 100% rHDPE (recycled high-density polyethylene) plastic and is fully recyclable (it’s the same stuff your milk jugs are made from!). That means no new plastic, all 100% rHDPE.
Compared to cardboard alternatives, HDPE is a versatile, strong, lightweight plastic used for everything from containers to piping. We use it at PakTech to make our durable packaging handles and for its eco-friendly features. Plus, it’s non-toxic and food-safe, which means every product packaged with a PakTech handle is assured product quality maintenance.

Our environmental mission doesn’t stop when our handles are with our customers. We also take extra steps to ensure our packaging solution meets our eco-friendliness standards by implementing a top-tier recycling program here in the United States. In Australia, we’re even APCO assessed and curbside accepted.
We offer a complementary recycling bin and educational poster to our new PakTech Recycling Program partners, guiding them to connect with reprocessors to repurpose PakTech handles into new products, like new PakTech handles, park benches and planter pots.
The results are tangible, measurable — and earth-friendly.
Not only do we use 100% recycled materials in our handles, but our handles are also the lightest weight option in the beverage packaging space when compared to paperboard. That means that they cause fewer emissions during transportation, significantly lowering the product’s carbon footprint — and, overall, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 78%.
